May 31 Meeting - Three Highlights
1. Town of Penfield Supervisor Tony LaFountain presented our program. He talked about Penfield’s plans to rebrand as a wellness community. He detailed the highlights of 2011, which include reducing energy costs, completing more than 70 townwide drainage projects, and installing a traffic light at the corner of Atlanta Avenue and Jackson Road. 2. We raised more money for the Rotary Foundation! Our club will be ready to make a formal announcement of how much money it is giving to the Foundation by June 15.
3. Rotary District 7120 is on Facebook, and Pen-Web has a chance to win four tickets to the Red Wings Rotary Night! For details, “like” District 7120 by going to http://www.rotary.org/en/AboutUs/TheRotaryFoundation/Pages/ridefault.aspx.

May 24 Meeting - Three Highlights
1. 13 Pen-Web Rotarians pledged donations that total to $800 for the Rotary Foundation. Get your Foundation pledging in by June 14, and if the donations are more than $1,000, the Board will consider upping the $1,000 in club funds committed to the Foundation to match whatever the total raised of the members is! We’re looking to donate more than $2,000 as a club.
2. At Baywinde, they are looking to put in a bocce court and would like our support! The Spencerport and Hilton Rotary clubs are looking to help the cause as well.
3. Nick Stefanovic of CDS Monarch’s Warrior Salute program presented to our club about the clinical, vocational, and occupational support Warrior Salute provides to veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

May 17 Meeting
1. We are happy to induct four new fantastic members to the Pen-Web Rotary club! Congratulations Rick Rock, Joyel Bennett, Mark Campanella, and George Wikander!
2. Davin Searls of Discovering Deaf Worlds presented our program. He talked about how his organization provides organizational management training to Deaf advocacy organizations in developing countries. 3. The “JA in a Day” volunteer team received training from the Junior Achievement experts! We’re ready for June 13 at East Rochester High School.

Camp Haccamo Landscaping
Thanks to Cheryl Collins, John Lee, Dave Samuelson, and Jonathan Usdin for doing some dirty work and cleaning up our landscaping space at Camp Haccamo. We hope the kids love it this summer.

May 10 Meeting - Three Highlights
1. The Society for the Prevention and Care of Children presented about how they cultivate a strong and thriving community by providing exceptional services to children and families.
2. We held an Adopt a Unit collection! Jellybeans, magazines, and more!
3. We’re in a new room at Baywinde, and it has free weights!

May 3 Meeting - Three Highlights
1. Bill Wickham of Wickham Farms talked to us about the family fun and farm fresh food Wickham Farms provides. We’re ready to try out the jumping pillow and more at this great Penfield spot!
2. The board announced the following donations will be made at our annual dinner on Thursday, June 28 at Sanibel Cottage: $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund; $800 to Literacy Volunteers of Rochester; $600 to the Webster Library; $600 to the Penfield Library; and $350 to Heritage Christian Services.
3. We will induct four new members at our May 17 meeting! Welcome Joyel Bennett, Rick Rock, George Wikander, and Mark Campanella!

Three Highlights - April 19 Meeting
1. Adopt a Unit collection took place!
2. Gillian Hargrave, Vice President and COO of Lollypop Farm, presented. Lollypop Farm takes in 12,000 animals annually, caring for them and finding them homes. The following increases have taken place at Lollypop Farm over the past decade - admissions up 31%, adoptions up 52%, surgeries up 153%, staff up 138%, and volume up 139%. Did you know Lollypop Farm has law enforcement officers who educate people on how to take care of animals, it welcomes 150,000 visitors each year, and it provides free pet advice with a simple, free phone call. 3. Next week, we are cleaning up our landscaping site at Camp Haccamo Tuesday, April 24, and we have a night meeting at Salvatore’s on April 26 at 5.

International Champs
